Summer Team SpotlightIn July, we welcomed Gracie-Mae Morden and Maggie Chapman to the Thinking Rock team! We are thrilled that Gracie-Mae, who is passionate about the arts and volunteering in community, has returned to Thinking Rock this summer. Our appreciation for the way she brings her warm, community heart to her work grows all the time! Sheβs a light, both in her home community of Thessalon and on our team. Maggie is a painter, jeweller and digital artist who has been involved in local theatre and performing arts for the past three years. She is passionate about restorative justice, advocacy and equality in her community, and these interests are informing her aspirations for future studies and work. You can read more about Gracie and Maggie on our website. When you see us out and about in community, be sure to say hi!

Summer Programming UpdatesOur summer team of staff and volunteers has been working all across Algoma and online to bring Social Fabric programs and outreach to communities, including: Making Nights: hybrid spaces (online + in-person) for social creativity and connection; Drop-Ins: in-person spaces for spontaneous creativity; Social Fabric Labs: focussed spaces for creative experimentation and exploration building on project themes; and Communi-Bees: intentional spaces for collaborating together on works-in-process
Gracie notes, βWhile I like to facilitate programming, I find more connections are created when we are collaborating together: people are more likely to jump in when they see us participating, too!β And Maggie, who is new to our work, adds that Thinking Rockβs programs βoffer a unique environment for people to express their creativity and connect with others.β
We have TONS more programming planned for the Summer, Fall and onwards - please visit our programming calendar and newsletter, save the dates, and plan to join us!
