anti-racist allyship.

Thinking Rock Community Arts stands in solidarity with the Black community in Algoma and beyond as we remember and mourn George Floyd and Regis Korchinski-Paquet this week. We send love to their families and communities. We acknowledge and remember all of the lives that have been impacted and/or taken by police violence and anti-Black racism.
.
As a team of white artists supported by a governance team of white and Indigenous folks, we are asking ourselves: what are we doing to resist anti-Blackness, and how can we turn our grief, our anger, and our solidarity into action, to tangibly support Black-led community resistance and healing?
.
We can start by educating ourselves about white supremacy and racial injustice, by listening to Black voices, by amplifying and paying for the work of Black artists, and by creating space to use art-making to support and listen to one another as we grieve and learn together. Links to some of the anti-racist resources we are learning from in our bio.
.
Thinking Rock is committed to working in collaboration with communities to create spaces for dialogue and mutual understanding through multidisciplinary, multi-generational, cross-cultural community-engaged art projects.
